Final thoughts
Part 1A: Fascia Structure, Function and Dysfunction:
This course provides an advanced and comprehensive understanding of cutting-edge discoveries in myofascial anatomy, including macroscopic, cellular and microscopic structures. We take a deep dive into the extra-cellular matrix, and the various mechano, biochemical and hormonal receptors and their functional roles. We’ll explore the latest medical research findings and view modern imaging for common pathophysiological changes such as fascial densification, irregular fiber arrangement, advanced glycation end products and the effects of pain and inflammation.
Part 1B: Application and introduction to 3-dimensional oscillating pressure and shear
This course details the history of Delos Institute and provides a deeper understanding of structure and function with an emphasis on the pathophysiology of fascia and current treatment options of the myofascial system. We discuss the limitations of these options and explore the basics of Delos Institute myofascial therapy combining multi-directional pressure and shearing forces and their effects on the cellular and neurological elements of fascia remodeling. Upon completion of this class, students will have the foundational knowledge needed and start developing their therapeutic skills in order to produce general, 3-dimensional myofascial pliability.
Part 2: The Regional Anatomy Series
The regional anatomy series are a set of Delos Institute technique classes divided into five functional regions. Combining the latest research in myofascial science with Delos Institute’s trademarked technique, students can expect to gain a thorough understanding of the relationships of various systemic structures within each region. Students will be able to identify fascial adhesions and densifications, muscles, neurovascular bundles, as well as functions and dysfunctions common to each region. During each class, students will utilize and discover the therapeutic benefits of orientation, pressure, and shearing. Upon completion of each class, students will have honed their therapeutic skills in order to produce 3-dimensional myofascial pliability, understand how to apply pressure and shear to specific regions, and remodel myofascial structures in a regionally specific manner.
